UNIVERSAL 40K DOUBLES
EVENTS PACK

ARMY SELECTION AND PLAYING DOUBLES

Mustering your Army

Each player will have their own separate 1,000 point army following the usual Matched Play rules for picking your army. These two armies then combine in your games to create a Team army.

When building your army, use all the most up to date Warhammer 40k Rules

Each player’s 1,000 point army is entirely their own and must be fully contained within their own army roster, with some exceptions:

  • Each player’s army must be from a different core codex, so you cannot take a doubles army consisting of two Space Marines forces for example.

  • Any Unique units can only be included once per Team.

  • Each player selects a Warlord from their individual 1,000 point army as normal.

  • You may not duplicate Datasheet across a Team. For example Player A is using a Chaos Knights army and Player B is using a Death Guard army. Player B cannot take Chaos knight allies.

  • A Data Sheet may only be used twice within each 1000pt list (and not duplicated across both lists as mentioned above)

Playing a doubles match works as follows.

  • Player’s armies do not need to be able to ally with each other, but different allegiances within a player’s army must be able to ally following the normal rules.

  • When playing your games, rules that relate to an army or player will relate to your Team. For example if one player’s models gain control of an objective, the team gains control of it, and anything that is once per player is once per team.

  • Your Team generates a Command Point at the start of each of the command phases as normal, not
    one per player.

  • Any extra command points generated by abilities can be shared by the team.

  • Faction and Detachment ability will not affect your ally even if the rule says 'your army'

PAINTING STANDARDS

Including conversions and proxies

Your army must be fully painted and based to at least a Battle Ready standard, using a minimum of three colours.

Conversions, Proxies and older models are allowed, but must meet the following criteria

  • Use the correct base size for the most current version of that unit. The current version is whatever is supplied in the latest box for that unit.

  • Must share similar dimensions to the original model.

  • Not give any advantage over using the original unit model

  • Must be within the spirit of the army the unit is part of

  • Must be obvious to your opponent what it is and what it is armed with

Any models reported to the TO and found not to meet the above standards will be removed from play and that players list will be corrected. Players will be given the opportunity to get their models up to standard if time allows between games.

PAIRINGS AND SCORE TRACKING

We will be using the Best Coast Pairings app to pair players and track final scores. Having the app is not essential but will make the day run smoother if it is being used by the majority of players to check their table numbers and submit results.

Pairings for round 1 will be random, with rounds 2 and 3 pairings being based on Number of Wins - > Battle Points.

If there is an odd number of players leading to someone lacking an opponent, a bye score will be awarded. This will be in the form of a 60 point win. However a ringer player (either a Judge, TO or local volunteer) will then be matched with that player who will then play and gain an opportunity to score higher. If they lose their game, the 60 point win will stand. If they win then their winning score will count towards the next round.

During the games it is up to players to keep track of their scores. We advise both players do so to ensure the most accurate scoring.

RULES AND CONDUCT

Please try to resolve any rules you are unsure of with your opponent. We advise checking the published rules whenever there is a need for clarification. If this does not resolve the issue, please call for a Tournament Organiser (TO). If you call over one of our team their resolution of the matter will be final

We will be adhering to the ITC code of conduct found here as well as our own Players Social Contract found here.

We will be using yellow and red cards at our event.

A yellow card is considered a warning for an infraction which has a negative effect on the event or it's participants.

These include but are not limited too the following infractions:

  • Not submitting your list by the deadline

  • Submitting an illegal list

  • A Breach of the Players Social Contract

  • A Breach of the ITC Code of Conduct.

  • Not being able to present rules for your army upon the request of your opponent or the TO.

A Red Card being issued will result in the participant receiving it being removed from the event roster and unable to play any further. Red cards come with with an exclusion period in which that player cannot participate in any further events until that period has ended. An exclusion period will be determined by the TO after the event is over and communicated to that player.

Infractions that can result in a Red Card include but are not limited too:

  • Receiving a second Yellow Card

  • Actively Cheating

  • Any improper behaviour towards other players or the event team.

DICE ROLLING APPS AND CHESS CLOCKS

Dice rolling apps will not be permitted at the event.

Chess clocks are not required, though if your opponent asks to use one then you must use one. It’s the responsibility of the requesting player to  supply the chess clock.
